Do You Want to Advocate for Head Start?

Since 1965, Head Start has offered opportunity and hope to young children and families in our Kansas communities and across the nation.  Nearly 6,300 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers are enrolled in Kansas Head Start programs.

Head Start programs operate with funds from the federal government. Continued federal funding in Fiscal Year 26 (FY26) and beyond is essential for maintaining access to the early education, health services, and economic supports offered by Head Start programs like yours!

Become an Advocate for Head Start!

What can you do to help protect Head Start funding?

  • Talk to your friends, family, and neighbors about Head Start and why it is important. The most important message you can share is your own story and your own experience.

  • Act by sharing a message about the importance of Head Start with your Members of Congress. The National Head Start Association has provided this tool for you to use here. Or click on the flyer below.
